Blursday

Things are getting weird. Time is doing a hop, skip and a jump. Waiting has been our modus operandi for so long that now that it’s time to blow this pop stand, we’re suddenly at odds with what to do with ourselves. It doesn’t seem real, it’s kind of like stepping into one of those funhouses with all the funky mirrors, reality is tilting.

Butch is cool. He is a little miffed about getting booted out of his napping spots while we clean and launder everything in the van, other than that he is impervious to the grip of our current weirdness. He’s not really a planner. We are, especially Greg. Jumping off the cliff of routine is a little daunting to him, after all, he’s been working at Buckley for 25 years through 3 Base name changes, under 12 Base Commanders and through 5 presidential administrations. He’s been here supporting our military and government through conflicts and pandemics and so many technology changes, it’s mindboggling. Planning this big trip has been his focus for literally years now and here we are on the verge of embarking and while it’s exciting, he’s feeling a little off kilter as we shift from waiting and planning to going and doing.

To give him a new outlet for his mental energy (yes, he NEEDS that and yes, I NEED him to have that), he has very recently taken up photography and is launching a new little side gig trying to sell some of his images. His stuff will be publishing through: https://ourramblinvan.picfair.com

As for me, I already have my own mental energy outlet right here, thanks for humoring me and following along with my Blah Blah Blog. I’m looking forward to sharing stories from the road and relating Butch’s harrowing tales of fugitive life. Hope you hang with us.

Tilting our way toward the road,
